Hello,

We have a win98 network, the printers and one 98 client connect to a centrecom hub.
All other clients are wireless linked to the windows 98 PC, normal IP 192.168.0.1 etc. When I try to connect another PC via the hub I cannot get on the network. There is activity on the hub and LAN card.

I have setup the network properties identicle to that of the other PC's, the only difference is that the PC I cannot get onto the network asks for a windows password, all the other do not.

There is no domain so the primary logon is set to microsoft family. This is the same for all PC's. I cannot even ping anything.

Please help!

Thanks

I would try re-installing the drivers for the NIC card.

What type of NIC card is it?

Hello,

I sussed it!

The clients connected via physical (cable network) ran on a different scope of internal IP addressed than the wireless clients. But the all had the same subnet mask.

The wireless reciever is on 192.168.0.?? scope
The normal NIC card was on another set of IP addresses.
So when I was trying to connect the client with one specified IP address 192.168.0.15 it would not work.

Ta!
