Hi,

I'm running WinNT 4.5 sp6a - 12 WinXP Clients - 10 Win98.
Our 3com Hub died yesterday , and has been replaced with a 10/100 3com Switch.
All is fine , except one Win98 Client that can not see the Network , or at best , can only see parts of the Network.

The speed of the Network is 10Mbps , although we have 10/100 cards. The speed of the Switch is 10Mbps. There is a brand new NIC on the machine , and nobody else is suffering from this problem.

Can anyone shed som light??

Thanks "What happens if I press *that* button?"

You could try swapping the lead into the switch with one in another socket and see if he problem stays with the original machine or moves to the other machine. This will narrow the problem down to the PC or the Switch. If the problem is still with the same PC, check the Network settings are the same as th other 98 PCs.

This can happen with 98 or even other newer versons.
Try to Search for computers from that 98, that should work.
In the worst case, delete the adapter, reboot and add it again, your settings should still be there, but .. there is always the backup option ;-)
