I have a few Windows 98 computers running on a OS X Server network. I'd like to be able to log on to the server from the Windows 98 computers. I read in the manual about turning on Windows Services, and configuring it to be the browser. Seemed simple enough, but I'm not getting it to work properly.

Any specific suggestions as to how to continue?

We have it working the other way using remote desktop (OS X can log onto Windows XP and 2K) but not the way you are going and not 9x. We have a few 9x machines here and I might be able to try it on our lab Xserve if you tell me what you are (not) seeing.

Thanks for the reply, awingnut!

Specifically, I would like to have the Windows 98 client log on to the domain, much as I have them set up on the Windows 2003 Server in other schools.

Right now, when I set up "Master Domain Browser" as the manual instructs in Mac OS X Server, and set up the Windows 98 clients to "Log on to a Windows NT network", the Windows 98 client says "no domain server was found", which signals to me that the OS X Server is not set up properly. To further lead me down this path, the Win98 clients can successfully ping to the OS X Server, and even "see" it in the Network Neighborhood (but can't connect to shared folders, because it's not logged on...)

Any ideas?
