WIN98 ASKING TO FORMAT DRIVE AFTER FDISK

Can anyone please help.

I am rebuilding my pc at home with win98. I have booted from a win98 floppy - fdisked, created partition, and then it asks me to reboot - i do this - it then asks me to format the drive - i do this - but it won't let me.

Has anyone come across this before??

What boot floppy are you using? Normal boot floppies I've seen end up at the A> prompt for you to format manually using the command line. You evidently have something added.

Did you decide on a reinstall because of problems?
