Has anyone seen this before? How have you fixed it?

This happens on many of our client PCs. Mike Wills

Are you running ZENWorks? Maybe there is a Run Once instance that is causing the reboot.

What version of the NetWare Client are you running? If its not the latest and greatest, maybe you should try upgrading the Client. Also have you applied any of the Support Packs available for the version of Client that you are running?

Please advise.

Good Luck.

Oops, sorry I forgot that information.

We are running 3.31 for Windows 9x. As far asI know that is the latest and greatest. And we do NOT use ZENworks. Mike Wills

So what happens, the Login Screen appears and the workstation reboots? Or, the Login Screen appears, an attempt is made to login and then the system reboots?

Man... I must have been a sleep yesterday.

Yes, it will boot up fine to the log on screen, then when the user goes to log in, the computer reboots. If they press cancel on the Novell log on screen and then log on to the Windows network, they don't seem to have a problem. Also, when a server goes down (I haven't figured this one out yet) some of the systems reboot.

Okay, now that we know its after login, do you ever see a login script page? When the login screen appears click ADVANCED (located in the right hand corner of the login box), then select the SCRIPT tab. Make sure that RUN SCRIPTS and DISPLAY SCRIPTS WINDOW are both checked.

DO NOT CHECK THE "CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY"!!!

Now, go ahead and login and lets see if you gets a login script results screen. Hopefully, this should give you some feedback on whats going on during the login process.

Maybe there is something in the login script that is getting activated when a User logs on.

Let me know.

Good Luck.

It is very irradic. It isn't just at log in. Would your idea still work? I will pass this on to our tech though. Mike Wills

Yeah, give it a try. It might give some info that we previously did not know. Only do this for one or two workstations that you know are having this problem.
