Hi,
I cannot get this computer to join my LAN. It is a 486 with Windows 95. It has a Net2000 compatible ISA NW card which does not show any signs of driver trouble, it responds to the ping loopback check, it is a working card as I tested it on an other PC. I have a SMC router Barricade 7004VBR connected to my Webstar cable modem. The router has DHCP enabled and the PC DHCP config is set on auto. All my other computers on the Lan work fine, access to each other as well as the Lan. I have XP on one of the computer. Prior to my having a router, I was using a Hub, and with an other 486 running Win95 I was able to get it to see the Lan and go to the Net, I then had added NetBeui to the XP computer at the time.
But with a router I don't get why it is not running, it tells me it cannot find the DHCP server (when I do WINIPCFG) I saw on the Net that one could use the DHCP patch, an executable not part of MS updates. I found it but no change.
Anyone has some tips on this?
Cheers!
