Hello. Here is my situation:

PII 233
128meg RAM
ASUS P2 L97 MB
Win95 (not sure ver. not my machine)
Diamond Video
Creative Sound

When the machine is turned on, the CPU fan starts, the power light on the front of the case comes on, a light on the HDD inside the case comes on, and the machine sounds like it's OK. The A:\ drive light doesn't come on and it makes no sound that it's being checked. The machine does not display anything on the monitor. The Caps lock, Num lock, and Scroll lock lights on the keyboard all stay lit up and Ctrl Alt Del has no effect. I have made sure that the RAM/cards are seated proplerly, all connections are in correct and snug. I cannot boot with a floppy due to the fact that the A: drive is not being accessed by the computer during the boot process. The computer does not make any beeps at any time. I'm assuming it's a hardware issue, but what part do I want to start looking at first? Any and all ideas on how to fix this issue can be sent to in2jeeps@yahoo.com

Pull all expansion cards except video. Reseat the memory 5 or 6 times. Pull offboard connectors except speaker. System now at minimum to POST.
Processor isn't clocking, or isn't getting to where it needs to be.
1) Power good signal not coming up will stop oscillator
2) Memory not holding return address will bomb subroutine
3) Processor
4) Motherboard

have you checked the power cable going into to your floppy drive? looks like it's disconnected. when you say that the light doesn't turn on during the boot up process, it tells me that there is no power going into your A drive. check that one and see what happens....
