WIN32/heur trojan" This won't go away - It came from malicious malware: "Spyware Guard 2008 exe" that keeps popping back into program files every 15 minutes. My AVG 8.0 detects it constantly, and puts it in the 'vault' but it can't seem to get rid of it. SPYBOT S & D doesn't even see it, my Spyware Blaster just sits there and does nothing. I don't know of any anti-virus program that will delete all that needs to be deleted.
It is obviously stuck inside the Registry but I don't know the keys to delete, and I can't find good information on it on the web.
Any ideas??? Thank You

Start the computer in safe mode with networking and try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware downloadable from here.

Download Malwarebytes, update it, and run it in safe mode. Malwarebytes get rid of a lot of malware that other removal tools can't completely remove.

Once your computer is clean and running problem free then clear you old system restore points by turning off system restore and turning it back on again.

Cheers.

ItWorked - I did exactly what you suggested - Thank you! My question for you is: how did you know this free software would get all the malicious files whereas the other software I already have don't? thanks again!

I'm glad that it worked and you're back in business. :) Don't forget to blow out you old restore points once you're sure everything is running smoothly otherwise if you later restore to an earlier point you'll be back at square one.

Malwarebytes is just about the only anti-malware app that will remove Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2009, and its variants. I hadn't heard of Spyware Guard 2008 but from the description I was pretty certain that it was an Antivirus 2008 variant.

Cheers.
