We have a Win2K (SP4) box that seems to be missing the shares setup on it. this includes file and printer shares.
We have shared printers for the users on other Win2K SP4 boxes on this PC and they seem to be dropping the link to the shared printer. The printer DOES appear in Window on the box in question, as do the shared drives, and they are shown as shared when viewing them, but when looking at the properties of the printer and the file shares they state they are not shared.
The user names and access are the same on all ends of the connections, so I am guessing we can rule that out.
I am as confused as this post (I am sure). But it seems the Service used to share folders and printers on the Win2K box is being shut down. This was started manually on the system and it was running after each reboot after that, but the issues with the shares persist.
Any ideas?
