Win2k SP3 VPN problems after MS03-039 patch

Hi,

I've been running a Win2k server as my vpn end-point for a long time now, and just after installing the new RPC patch, everything seems to have gone wrong with this server. Most of all, I can't VPN into it, DNS resolution doesn't work locally (but it still works as a DNS server, oddly enough), Exchange2k is having issues with starting, takes 15 minutes before i can communicate with Exchange's services after a reboot. Basically I'm only seeing a couple of "RPC communication failed" errors in the event log, which I'm assuming are the causes of my problems.

Anyone else have issues like this after installing the new patch?

Thanks!

(By the way, Microsoft, Thanks for not making this uninstallable!!)

Thanks for the reply!

I've done some more troubleshooting (now that I can get to the server locally):

DNS - nslookups work fine locally on the server (this is acting as an auth DNS server for my local network, as well as caching from an Internet forwarder).

Terminal Services - Works fine if I term svc, vnc, etc into it. Also browsing shared folders works fine from the internal network to the server.

Exchange - I got it to quit barfing (seperate issue) so clients can access it locally, all those services come up normally.

VPN - still refuses to work. I've also noticed that web browsing still does not work on the server locally (even though I can nslookup the address, and i try browsing with just the IP of the server.) RaRAS hangs when I try to restart it from Services.

It's almost like connections that try to origionate locally are not getting through for some things (web, starting the VPN's GRE tunnel), but everything else seems to work.

I think my next step might be to remove and re-install RaRAS, or install SP4 (shudder).

Any more suggestions? Thanks!
