Win2K saving settings tweak

I have looked at reg tweaks, and I saw that I could do a tweak that would not save settings at exit. Does this work for Win2K that saves the profile to the server? If it does, where do I go because the reg key ( HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microssoft\Windows\currentVersion\Policicies\Explorer ) did not work. I changed the background color and the size and logged out, but when I logged back in the changes were still there.

is a good place to start. Is the profile in question Roaming or Local? If roaming, whatever settings changes you make to the machine will be replaced back to original state each time you log off and then back on. If it is local, then follow a few of the suggestions in this link
