I installed Win2k Prof + SP3 on a 1 yr old PC running WinMe, to dual boot from a 80GB partition of a 120GB drive. This worked fine. I then installed Visual Studio .NET. This also appeared to be fine until I tried installing Office 2k: as soon as I inserted the CD, the PC rebooted. Inserting any install CD caused the PC to reboot. If I take the CD out, everything works fine. I then created another partition on the drive, and the problem went away. I was then able to install Office 2k, but after that the problem reappeared. I see a few other threads about Win2k rebooting, but in this case everything that is already installed works fine, its just inserting a CD that causes it to reboot. There is no blue screen, or error messages. Any ideas ? Thanks !
