I have a machine running Win2K professional that needs to print to a printer directly attached to a machine running Win98. The Win2KPro machine can see the printer as a share and when installing the printer can browse and select the printer as a default. When you attempt to print...a message says the printer may be offline, but cannot be reach on the network. The printer is, however, online and ready...the Win98 machine is on and the drivers for the printer were reinstalled in case that was the problem.
There are other machine (Win98) that can print to the same printer over the network. Is this a Win2KPro issue? Please shed some light.

Long shot, but it may be that the driver for the 98 machine is incompatable with W2K. You could try to explicitly load a W2K driver...

Thanks, I have tried that...but, to no avail. I will try to delete all instances of that Win2K user and HP Printer and rebuild everything from scratch. Just in case it's a rights or access issue.
