Hello.
I have been struggling with what appears to be a memory allocation problem and quite possibly java VM too.

After working with big programs for a awile(MS Word, SQL SERVER Enterprise Manager, Visual InterDev, FrontPage 2000, MS Access, OutLook, etc)
I get "not enough quota to ....." errors. Also I see the title bar on windows are unreadable. Just garbled text that makes no sense....
Then ultimately critical errors occur such as "#Filename# is not a valid windows image"....
The start button stops working(menu will not come up), Outlook will not get released from the active services list when closed, windows expolrer cant access the directory information.....etc, etc

Rebooting of course sets it all right again but Im having to do this more often now and its getting worse.

Can someone please help?
Thanks....

A little more detail would help. Are you running all these apps at the sametime? How much RAM does your system have? How big is the paging file? how big is the hardrive? Size of files your working with? From the sounds of it you just don't have enough resources available.

Thanks for the quick response. I knew Id be asked for more detail....;o)

The installation of Win2K was done as an upgrade over WinNT.
Originally things were good, very good.

Yes quite often I do use some or all of these programs at the same time. I have to.

From what I see there I would defenitly look into getting more RAM and larger hardrives. Also I would reconfigure the system to not have so many partition, thats more personal preferences than enything else. I have found that if I am running multiple HD's its better to install everything to one of them on a single partition and then use the other HD for data. Use the file system for organization.
