I have a computer that is constantly using up 100% of the cpu. I go to task manager and the process is the System process that is eating up all of the cpu. I have done virus scans and no viruses are on the computer. It doesn't seem that any services are trying to start but can't.

I guess I am not even sure what the System process is. Seems pretty general.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Have you tried using the System Monitor to try and find a bottleneck? Add the snap-in thru MMC and add the Processor> % Processor Time and Processor. Interrups/Sec.
If your Processor time is 80% or above it's a processor issue. If you Interrups/Sec is above 3,500 it could be a program or hardware... Matt Wray
