I have a user with a Win2K laptop that is used at work, on a domain-based network. They want to be able to take it home and link it to their home PC running Windows 98, so that they can use its resources and as a backup. How can I get Win2k to allow them to join either a domain or a workgroup so that I don't have to re-join them to the domain each time they have used it at home and set it to workgroup? I've tried several things but to no end. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You shouldn't need to remove it from the domain to access the PC. You can create a local account on the 2000 pc and access it from the Win98 machine that way.

I have a similar challenge in Win 2000 Professional loggin to different domains constantly and having to rejoin the original domain all the time. It's crazy.

Anyway, try this link and tell me if it works for you.
