Win2K NtBackup spanning on 2 tapes

Hi, hope someone can help,

I have a Compaq ML370, Win2k Server with SP3 and a Compaq AIT50/100 drive.

The problem is whenever I do a backup, ntbackup always asks for a new "prepared" tape for the second tape eventhough I have used this tape for a backup before, is this just a feature of NTbackup as I would like it just to save on the second tape rather than preparing it?
