Hi all,
I am preparing to migrate a 250 user site from win2k Mixed mode to Win2k3 server mode functional level. This network is currently a single forest, single. All DC's are Win2k3 already so this won't be an issue.
In preparation, a recovery option will be outlined in case something happens (though I know logically this is a very simple process). We need to make sure we can recover. Good old change control.
We will test recovering the first DC with all domain and forest FSMO roles to restore AD to win2k mixed mode if needed. Will this be all I need to test? Currently, their backup has not fully worked in the past so I will be resolving that also as I am a consultant that is engaged to look at this.
The feedback I am interested in is what things I should look for in recovering the domain from backup. Is it enough? I think it is pretty strait forward, but I am interested points of view from outside my square. Any issues that you may have had that have caused you issues in the past with similar tasks. Feel free to respond, I would be happy to hear from you.
Thanks in advanced
