win2k install via LAN

hi,

i have a Dell Latitude L400 but I don't have a CD-rom station or Floppy disk drive.

Can somebody explain me how to install windows 2k via a LAN in connection with my desktop computer.

There are 3 options to install win2k on a laptop without cd-rom player that I can think of, but I don't think you're going to like them:

1) Create a RIS server (
2) Install an external cd-rom player on your laptop, boot and install from there.

3) Make a network bootdisk, connect to a drive with Windows 9x on it, copy that and install it. When Win9x is installed, do the same for Windows 2000 and use upgrade.

There are no easy solutions I can think of, sry.

I got a little bit of luck. Win2k pro was still on it, but with a lot of crap from other users, but i can make a connection in windows with my desktop.

Isn't it possible to install a clean version in a way?
