Hello,
We are in a process of setting up a new server while the existing server is still running in the network. In the end only the new server will prevail.

In the meantime we encounter certain problems during installation of DNS.

Our existing server info are as follows:
Full Computer Name : amsua.AMSUA-SERVER
Domain: AMSUA-SERVER
At present all the workstations are required to log on to the domain 'AMSUA-SERVER' in order to get access from the server.

The new server info are as follows:
Full Computer Name : amsua.amsua.com
Domain: amsua.com

But when we try to log on to the network, it says Log On To: AMSUAGROUP. instead of the domain 'amsua.com'.
Where did we go wrong?
Now we wanted to find and know how to delete the container or workgroup called AMSUAGROUP ?

Able to ping from any workstations to the new server. No problem.

Regards,
Ibrahim.

Any policies enabled? Hewissa

MCSE, CCNA, CIW

Not seems to be. Because it's not fully functional. If so, how to check the policies? You mean the 'services'? I have stopped the DNS service and tried with vain.

Regards,

Logon to a client and see the network identification out there.... does it show the .com name?
