I am in need of a driver for a Matshita SR-8174M / SR-8175M DVD Drive for Windows2000. Win2K installs it as a normal CDRom drive. I have been all over the web querying for a driver.

It is used in a IBM ThinkPad T22. I have called IBM TechSupport who could not help me, since the laptop was purchase with Win98. I have flashed the bios, and installed SP3 at their request to no avail! They stated it would be a licensing violation if they sold me a restore cd with Win2K for the T22.

Anyone who can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I wish it was that easy. I install the DVD Express and it tells me a DVD Rom must be installed first. The DVD Express does not see the DVD, however Win2K sees it as a DVD drive, except it installs a cdrom driver.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi jamieb65,

I do have exactly the same problem with my ThninkPad A21m. I also went through all those steps as you did and nothing. Have you found a solution? Any tip would be greatly appreciated!

Regards

Thanx, but the only thing that worked was the "power dvd" 4.0
