Win2k DFS "access denied"

recently upgraded my NT 4 servers (pdc and bdc) to 2k. When i try to set a new dfs root, i keep getting the error, "access denied". Can anyone help me? I'm not up to speed on active directory, so would appreciate any help i can get. thanks
