Hi All!
I have a great problem with a Windows 2000 Pro. It can't distribute the IRQs among the PCI cards. The motherboard BIOS can do this, but the Win2k don't. Every card is on the 9 IRQ.
I can't enable or disable the ACPI function in the BIOS. There isn't any option for this. I heard this can solved the problem.
What can I do?

Thanks

Why do you want to distribute the IRQs? Are you having problems? If so what kind of problems? Win2K manages shared IRQs much better than any previous Windows OS. So you dont really run into problems. Give us more info and maybe we can help with the problem.

The only way I know of to distribute the IRQ's is with a non-ACPI install. To do this you need to reinstall Windows 2000. At the very beginning of the install when the message "Hit F6 to install third party drivers" appears, hit F5. After a few moments when a menu appears, select "Standard PC", then complete the install as usual.

I do this to all my home computers even though most are 100% ACPI compliant. The only advantage to using ACPI is energy efficiency which is not a concern to me personally. (as far as my computers are concerned)
