I have my network setup with a win2k server sp4, internet comes in through an IPCop gateway where I have PPTP forwarded to the server. I set up routing and remote access as a vpn server and when the service started, the local lan could no longer access the server, but I could VPN into the network and browse the server. I have one nic in the server with a private address. I want people to VPN in using the router/gateway public address and authenticate to the server. But I cannot have the local network down. Do I need two separate nics, or possibly two addresses on the single nic in order to get it to work?
