I'd go to the bookstore and read chapter 11 in "Inside Windows 2000 Server" by William Boswell on AD Replication. He approaches the subject as an experienced admin and give a lot of practical advice on the subject that you won't find in the Windows Help and many other walkthrough-focused books. This is one of the few technical books that I've actually read cover-to-cover, although not necessarily from beginning to end.
