Out of 4 workstations all running Win2000 Adv Server, 1 will not shut down. It stops at a message 'it is now safe to switch off your machine'.
Can't find anything relevant in the BIOS setup and I just updated the BIOS.

Any ideas?

What are the specs on the 1 PC that doesn't auto shut-off?

Jpger - Athlon 950, 384 meg ram, Microstar International MS-6330 motherboard, Win2000 Adv Server. Made the machine myself. Just updated the BIOS.

Fuz - Can't find anywhere to turn on advanced power management. Compared good machine to problem one for Control Panel / Power Options. Bad machine seems to have fewer options. E.g. Good machine has a 'Power Buttons' option under Advanced.

Does the BIOS contain any Advanced Power Mgmt options? The board should have that feature in BIOS

"Does the BIOS contain any Advanced Power Mgmt options?"

There is a power management setup screen with the following..

IPCA Function
Power Management : HDD power down / Doze mode / Suspend mode
ACPI suspend type
PM Control by APM
Video Off Option
Video Off Method
Modem Use IRQ
Soft Off by PWRBTN
State after power failure
LED in suspend
Wake up events
