Hello. My PC running Windows 2000 Pro is showing 100% CPU Usage in Task Manager and runs real slow. Have scanned for viruses with McAfee and nothing is detected. If anyone has had the same trouble, can you tell me what I must do to fix this? Thanks a lot.
If u have been running your system without a firewall, then I would advise reloading your computer cuz it is probably full of keyloggers, trojens, and all manner of other nasty things. Then buy or have a friend download Zonealarm or other firewall, and put it on a disk for u so u can install it before u connect to the internet again. Also have the friend put on the disk all the updates for whatever internet browswer u are using too. Hopefully u are not using Microsoft Explorer.
U can try fixing the problems without reloading your machine from the original disks, but to me it isn't worth the trouble. That is assuming that u don't have anything on your computer that can be replaced easily.
U can avoid most viruses and many other problems by not downloading your emails(or anything else for that matter) to your computer. Just look at them using yahoo or other free mail and turn off html.
Da-vi'do
P.S. A message to all,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Be aware that if u don't answer a question, I usually will not continue to help u.
