win2000 pro and modems

Hello everybody,

My scenario is:
I have win2k and 2 us robotics modems(v.90 56k) hooked up.
I have winfax 10.02, PaperPort 7.0

I cannot for the love of me get the pc to acknowledge one modem. It is the first port on my pc.

I have already changed mother boards and the problem still persists.

Any help or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. Are both modems PCI devices, and PnP compatible? Any jumpers on them?

Are you testing your modems out using the software, or Windows itself can't recognize the 2 modems?

Winfax is known to be VERY buggy, and I don't believe it's even supported anymore - but i could be wrong. In any case - i've never heard of a satisfied Winfax Pro user using it for business apps. Not to say it shouldn't work..it's just difficult pbxman
