Could use a hand with this.

Windows XP Pro SP2 on a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2 laptop, domain-connected, user logging on is a Domain Admin-level account both locally and remotely.

User goes home for the day and then VPNs / RDPs into the laptop from home... session works fine till the user sends a logoff command from the RDP desktop.

Inspection the next morning reveals a BSoD with a STOP c000021a (Fatal System Error).

Windows Logon Process terminated... system shut down.

All I've found so far about this is a IE Maintenance settings error that is rectified in IE 6 SP1 (installed) and WinXP SP2 (installed), IIS install problems (not installed), Fast User Switching being a problem with Term Services (not enabled, Active Directory-based authentication), and the language bar being anywhere but the bottom of the screen with the multilingual UI pack installed (not sure about that yet, not likely).

Has anyone else encountered this result when logging off a RDP session betweeen Windows XP boxes?

I haven't come across this issue, but I've fixied many BSODs and other issues in the past by running the system file checker (sfc.exe). It may be worth a shot if you don't have any other leads.
