Win Xp refreshes IPadd on switching ????

Query :

Everytime I switch user in XP (even when the user is logged in), it refreshes the IPadd when the screen loads.

Should it do this ?

For aguments sake if you have a web page open on user 1 and then switch to user 2 its takes time to open up the web page on user 2 as it takes time to connect to the Router giving it a new address.

Thoughts ?

Assuming this is a home PC using a home broadband router, you could either:
(a) set a static IP address on the PC
or
(b) use MAC address control on the router to assign the same address each time to the PC
