win xp not seeing router by way of cable

I'm trying to make my laptop the primary on my network.
I installed microsoft broadband mn-500 and my comp will
not see the router by way of cable hook up help.

I see you've posted this query a couple of times elsewhere without reply.

I feel you need to clarify the issue better, and post in either forum730 or forum586 given the nature of the MS Broadband MM-500

I suugest explain how have you re-configured your local network and what have you tried so far (e.g. run a setup program, entered the address of the router into a browser, lost the login details, &c.)
