i have just had to do a repair this installation of win xp home i now find that the ras has been stopped and then i go in to services to start it again i get the message error 5 access denied

any help would be great full

hi

the only account on pc is a user set as administrator
have tryed aministrator account in safe mode but ras service cannot be accessed in safe mode

I had a look at the Microsoft website but could find nothing of help.
Have you tried starting the service in the recovery console?

Are you refferring to the Remote Access Connection Manager service. Try reinstalling SP1 - this should cure the problem.
