My daughter's pc changed somehow on turn on.
I never set a Windows login password. It is Win XP Media Ed.
Now, when turn on, I figured out I can type in "Administrator" as user without password, and login to the pc.
How can I get pass this like it was before?
When turn on the pc, it used to go straight to the screen with both login users displayed.
Thank you.

Chris

See if this is what you are talking about?

Reset default welcome screen in xp

297221 - A User Account Does Not Appear in the User Accounts Tool (or Welcome Screen)

305281 - The "Welcome" Logon Screen Does Not Appear

331880 - No User Accounts Appear on the Welcome Screen After You Upgrade to Windows XP Home Edition

Thank you linney.
That worked. The only part left is I can't get the window back that shows the two user's icons and the ability to switch users.

What are you seeing when you boot as far as the Welcome Screen is concerned. Those articles above should have restored the Welcome Screen. Are you saying that the only missing component is the ability for Fast User Switching?

How To Use the Fast User Switching Feature in Windows XP

Type "Control userpasswords2" in the Start Run box, in the resulting window, click on Advanced and uncheck Secure Logon.

If no luck try these options.

Thanks linney. It worked after rebooting approx 3-4 times.
Weird.
Thank you for your help.

Chris

You'll have to get Vista, the Welcome Screen is the only Logon screen you ever see.

Glad you got it sorted.

Yes. I like Vista, but I'm going to wait a while. We are having issues with it at work. When they are worked out, I will feel more confortable running it at home.
Thanks,

Chris
