The T1 issue worked out so well for me I thought I'd try another - I seem to recall a customer of mine who could dial into his Legend from his house using a DID number and some instructions he typed into the dial string; obviously a great thing since it eliminates the need for the customer to repeatedly go through the transfer *10 exercise when the modem doesn't feel like staying connected. Does anyone here do this and/or have seen it done? Thanks in advance :) Diana

You can use a spare DID number for the Remote Access feature.

1. You need to renumber the Remote Access feature to the DID number as a 3 or 4 digit DN per your Dialing Plan.
2. Assign a Barrier Code for access to the switch via Remote Access.
3. The format to call via SPM is: ATDT(insert DID number),,,,, (5 commas for 2 rings) BARRIER CODE + *10 + ENTER(CR)

You may need to adjust the commas (pauses) depending on the timing of the switch answering and the modem sending the Touch-Tone™ digits. Once the switch answers no pauses necessary.

For further info, this topic has been covered many times on this forum, so you can search the archives and/or also read it in the Features Guide manual. It can be downloaded from Avaya's website:
Hope this helps!
