win nt 4.0 service pack 4 password help!

i have a laptop with win nt 4.0 on it and have no access into dos or nt...admin password screen pops up and cnrtl alt del keeps bringing up the prompt...
what do i do? do i buy a copy of nt and reinstall? is there any way to bypass th password promt?
please help it was purchased on an online auction and no refund can be given since he is ghosting...
nt is 4.0 workstation though, only thing that comes up before prompt is dual boot up screen fo reg version and vga mode... help please

No, theres no way to bypass the password input-

If you've tried the obvious ones,
like 'password', blank and so on,
and the person you bought it off
wont tell you,

Then you're going to have to 'crack'
the SAM database !

if the primary boot partition is
formated in FAT this is easy,
if it's NTFS, its a bit more
involved.
You'll also need a working PC.

Booting from a Win9x or DOS Floppy,
and copying the SAM file to a machine
that u can get into, and running the
NT-Crack from

thanks i will try it and update you on the details. How do i copy the SAM file? and will the reinstall of nt 4.0 work? or any other os? linux? win ME? nt 4.0? or is the SAM cracking the only way to go?
