Win Millenium reboots system during project

My daughter (at college) reports her Dell P4 system:

1. Turns itself off and reboots from time to time (I'm thinking some power feature needs adjusting---the thing is probably constantly on playing music so when she's in an application some timing feature may pop it off??)

2. Word (that comes with Millenium) locks up on her.

Should I walk her through a reinstall of Millenium? Any ideas?

Heat related problem? Some BIOS can turn off the machine if CPU gets too hot.

Does the PC have any monitoring s/w on it?

Sounds like RAM. Try obtaining some new RAM and install that and it should be fine, if that fails then try a new CPU.


Oh and another tip, don't use Windows Me.
