Hi,
I have been very happy with my old Win 98SE, but thought that I would give the new Windows Me a try.
My Computer : Pentium 3/800Mhz, 128 M Ram, Nvida TNT2, DSL network card, USR 56K V90 Modem, Fire Wire Card, M-Bit MB, 20GB HDD(7200), 8 GB HDD (5400).
I formatted and did a clean install with my new Windows Me Upgrade.
I enjoy many aspects of Win Me and would like to keep it installed, but I need to overcome this shut down problem.
After just installing Win Me, my computer will turn of completely using the Start/shut down sequence, but after adding my user programs, the computer will not shut down correctly.
When attempting a shut down the monitor goes blank (the power LED does not go to the OFF/Standby color), and the casing green power LED stay's illuminated. I then have to pull the power cord to get it back to life.
TIA.
Ron.

Hi Ron,

Well never having used ME I am not sure if this will work, but its worth a try.

If you check out the FAQ about Windows 98 not shutting down, it may help..
