win me network prob.

hope u can help,
i have 2 pc's which are networked together,both pc's has shared folders.the problem i have is that sometimes when i try and access the folder from another pc i get the message that it cannot find the folder or ivalid path or worfds to that effect.i have had both network cards replaced but i still get the same probs.any suggestions please

Can you clarify a few things please.

1. Are both machines ME?
2. How are they networked (eg, crossover cable, both connected to hub/switch/router etc).
3. Are you using TCP/IP - and if so, how are IP addresses allocated (eg, you put them in manually?, DHCP server in the router etc).
4. What do you mean by 'sometimes'? Is this both ways (ie, do you sometimes have problems reading computer A from B AND B from A. Or is it just in one direction)
