I have scoured the web for many hours attempting to find any information on this phone system and have failed miserably. The most I can find are user guides and contact numbers that are out of service.
If there is anybody who has any information to help with the programming of this old outdated system that would be amazing.

Currently we have a CPU that is about to die any day now. We need to replace the 96ct with another 96ct. The issue we run into is, after programming the CPU and turning off our test system to transfer it to the other system. The programming is gone. The new password assigned at the start of programming no longer works which would mean none of the other programming has been retained. To me it seems like a malfunctioning battery, so it is unable to retain memory. Does anyone have a programming guide or any information about these CPUs that could help?

Replacing the battery seems like almost impossible so we haven't attempted it yet. If someone knows how to do that maybe, we could go that route instead.
Things are getting down to the wire here.

So, I created this profile and this post in that hopes that someone on here has the knowledge background to help with this archaic phone system. Your time and help would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, a default password for the SMARTVOICE programming would be great too.

Thanks,
Rocco

Not sue how you found anything as I get nothing for "WIN Malaysian"
Odd to have a country name in a name of a system.

Does WIN stand for something?
Which word is the manufacture and which is the model?

Hi so the phone system was built in Malaysia. I believe it is called WIN Communication System.. I’m not sure of the exact name at the moment. I can find out tomorrow.

Over 20 years since I last saw a WIN Communications system, but a search does turn up a few companies claiming to still support their systems, including with a limited supply of parts.

Your search should have turned up the following companies - two of which are in Texas and a third company with offices in Maryland and North Carolina. You can download a Smart Voice installation manual from the website of that last one (Bay Telephone) and search it for the default password.

(Scroll down the page to WIN where you'll see downloads for the Smart Voice installation manual and some other items, but not a system manual.)

NOTE: I believe WIN was a Japanese company, but its US operation was in Georgia (as you'll see referenced in searches). Don't know anything about about its sales or manufacture in Malaysia.

The baytel site above will have the password you need

I think what your after according to the SmartVoice guide (vmail) is called the WIN 96ct Telephone System Installation and Maintenance Guide, my searches only came up the same as above.

Assuming the basic programming is similar for all models in the WIN xxxCT product line, then maybe the offerings for some of the WIN install and programming manuals at these sites can help - if you feel these sites are trustworthy.

(They do have a main page with an address and contact phone number if you click on one of the Quick Manuals banners.)

(After the first paragraph they have a link to the 440ct manual - I didn't click on it.)

Thanks for the help. Any information on this system is appreciated especially since the company seems to be non-existent on the internet lol. The Malaysia part is probably just where parts were manufactured out of.
