I am running Win 98 SE on a Pent III. 900mgz, 256 Ram, 30 Geg HD. Can I install Win XP and still keep Win 98 ? I have a lot of older software that may not run on Win XP.

Your comments please,

Can I create a partitiom without disturbing the existing programs ?

I thought I would need a second HD

Yes, you can repartition the harddisk with Partition Magic if the drive is uncompressed. But you should backup the harddisk before using PM.

rogvan,

Actually, XP will repartition for you. You don't need 3rd party software like Partition Magic (though I do recommend it if you don't mind spending $30).

I have a Dual-Boot Win98 and Win2K system on one hard drive. During the install of Win2K, it created and formatted a second partition for NTFS for me.
