Win 98 Step by Step sequence order

Hi,

I have a laptop that will not boot. In step by step, it gets to a file called pwrsave.vxd and the harddrive processes for a half a minute with a blank black screen. I sits like this for a minute or 2 then reboots.

Is pwrsave significant? or is it just the last file before windows begins loading?

Any body know what or where to find the meanings to all these boot steps?
