I have a laptop that I use at work to connect to an NT4
Domain. On bootup I get the login box, I enter username
password and DOMAIN is set, and I get in OK.
When I take the laptop home and try to use it I get the
same logon box but if i put in correct password or press
cancel it still tries to find the domain. I cannot get to
use my laptop off the network.
I seem to remember reading an article on Policies that
covered this but cannot find the right info anywhere.

Can anyone help?

if u do not have profiles set up in the laptop, u can simply hit the cancel button to work locally in Win98. i just hope that all ur work/data r stored in the local har disks.

dfurm,

You can set up a hardware profile to use at home that has the network card disabled and you will no longer be prompted for a network logon.

Thanks for your help

This has solved the problem.
