I never noticed my problem untill after i downloaded a lot of videos from off the internet. I got a message saying my hdd was full and i could not believe it because i have a huge 30GB hdd. I went to "My Computer" and checked the capacity and it shows that i have a 7.82 GB Hdd instead of the 30GB! I have a new Bios thats supports well over a 100 GB. It shows up correctly in my Bios as 30GB and when i look under FDisk it shows the correct information as it being 1 partion with 30GB and 100% usage. Its been formated and partioned with Fat32. I don't know what the problem could be. I've been told to run scan disk to fix the problem and that wouldn't work either. Could it be a registry issue? Could it be fixed by Norton? It also shows up as 7.82 Gb in capacity in Dos also. I've tried everything possible this one has got me....Help would be greatly appreciated

You may think your BIOS is up-to-date, but it seems extremely odd that you mention 7.8 GB. "Why" you ask? Well, here's an excerpt from Microsoft article Q154997:

NOTE : Although the FAT32 file system supports hard disks up to 2 terabytes in size, some hard disks may not be able to contain bootable partitions that are larger than 7.8 GB because of limitations in your computer's basic input/output system (BIOS) INT13 interface. Please contact your hardware manufacturer to determine if your computer's BIOS supports the updated INT13 extensions.

I would make sure you are running the latest BIOS revision. If you're convinced that you are, post back with the BIOS version you are running and the make/model pc.

what version of windows? js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

I saw the int13 interface thing in the utilities disk program that came with the drive, and when u mentioned that i went back and looked again and it was outdated and it had 7.82 as the capactiy. I talked to Western Digital about it and they said i had an older version of the utilities....When i asked why they sell an hdd with a program that would only allow me to access 7.82 GB of the hdd of a 30gb one, they couldn't come up with a good excuse. Oh well my system supports it without the need of the disk anyway, so i'll have to erase it and start over and think twice about buying WD again. Thanks for the info.
