Win 98 login to NT4 (Workgroup not Domain) TCP/IP protocol
logging into Netware using Netware Client 3.31.
When logging into NT4 should map a drive i.e L:\ACCESS but this just gives a password prompt. there should be no passwords. However if i login as the account supervisor it logs in ok. then I click on start and logoff, then i can login as Admin Ok. But can never login as Admin from Cold boot

MarkConchie,

Whenever IPX/SPX is installed, it adds a key in the registry with a value. Because of this, Netware attempts to provide the passwords first, instead of the Microsoft Client. Try this:

Search the registry for "autologon", without the quotes.
When you find the value, delete it.

Log off, or reboot, then log on...did that work? Let Me Know!

Thanks for the reply Rich
I have tried deleting the autologon key but still have same problem.
I seem to remember from somewhere that had the same problem, something in the registry that either looked after the password or login name caching
