Hi there,
using a dell laptop+Xircom lan/modem running Win 95 on docking station may create problem logging on to a domain and often outlook is the application that suffer most. Removing the card from the hardware profile may solve the problem for a while (but not for hot desking users). Is the any other solution to this problem, or at least give a clear explanation why this conflict and maybe demostrate it ???
Your help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Regards

First off, if you have a Dell Laptop and Dock, then you should have the Xircom NIC PCMCIA card in the laptop and a 3COM NIC in the DOC. The computer likes to keep these seperate and use the 3COM when you are DOCKED and the XIRCOM when you are in mobile mode.

You can still use the integrated modem on the XIRCOM while you are docked, but it allows for greater flexability if you use it as designed. The 3COM can be your static programming for your desk, and you can have a different ip for a different location or just use DHCP on your XIRCOM.

For th record I have a Dell latitude CSx with the same configuration.
