Win 95 and cable modem

My boss has a cable modem (not sure which company) and a small network setup in his home. Two systems use Win 98 and one uses Win 95. He reloaded Win 95 and now the system will only communicate within the local network and cannot access the internet throught the router. The other two have no problems with internet access. He is getting a cannot communicate with port when using Netscape nothing with IE. Any suggestions?
