Win 2K Yahoo Messenger Not Connected!!!!

I have just upgraded my pc and am running Win 2k on an ASDL connection. The problem is that Yahoo messenger cant connect and i cant access my hotmail account, it says page not found, if i wanted to pay for anything online when u go to the secure sever it also says page not found.I think that this is a port problem but im not sure how to sort it.
Please Help me!!!!
