Hi I got the above message after replacing a blown up mainboard. Can anyone help get this thing booting.

Thanks

try your ERD.... OR you may have to re-install over top of what you already have (not a fresh install though, and hope that he blown main board did not take the HD with it!)

Try and plug in this article number: Q271965. That should help. Also, you could try booting to the 2k cdrom, and doing the Fast Repair. Hit R on the screen after it initally installs all the files, (the setup screen I believe) R again, and then F, and then L. It should search for previous installations, Hit enter, reboot, and that should be that.

Thanks all,
Found a friend with the same chipset, used it to update IDE drivers to new chipset. System is now running, just need a few drivers replaced.

I am having a similar problem. Keep getting the inaccessable drive error. I retore my registry after getting into windows, then on reboot I get this error. I think the old registry has errors.

How do I reload the IDE drivers?

have you run chkdsk /f on the drive (would recommend doing so if not).

If you're using fat32, try converting it to ntfs - less filestore problems and better recovery (after running the chkdsk - convert C: /FS:NTFS from command prompt).

(I don't think its IDE drivers)
