We have Lotus Notes R5 running on an NT 4 server (with service pack 6a). The network is Novell 4.10.

Most of our users have Win9x, and connect to Notes with IPX/SPX, with no problems.

Some of our users have bought new Windows 2000 Advanced servers. They log on to the Novell network alright, but cannot connect to the Notes server. We checked all the settings we can think of, including access control, and current location settings.

We're wondering if w2k servers can work with Notes with SPX, or will we have to reinstall Windows 98 on them?

Even on a Novell network you should be able to use TCP/IP for your connection to the Notes server. Have the user's add tcp/ip to the ports section of their notes clients and bump it to primary status and attempt to connect.

If this doesn't work, let us know what the error message is.

Actually, we were finally able to use it with IPX/SPX, but we had to install the SAP Agent. We ended up figuring this out ourselves after a lot of trial and error. Even the Lotus support people weren't aware of it!
