hi all,

i just want to ask, i using IBM DB2 7.1 in wondws 2000, in order to run it, i have to use Administrator account to run (exp : create table). Is there a way that i can use normal user account and run the thing ? thanks

a db2 user must be a w2k user have you create differents users under w2k??????

yep. but i have to create a "Administrator" account in order to use the db2, i want to create an normal user account for that, but it won't works.

You can update the instance database manager configuration file SYSADM_GROUP to a local group and place your user in it.

create a local group db2adm then peform the following command at the db2 command window...

db2 "update dbm cfg using sysadm_group db2adm"

db2stop force (stops the instance)
db2start
